Day 1
The second international meeting of project partners has started. Lithuania welcomed guests from Turkey (Denizciler Mustafa Kemal Ilkokulu), North Macedonia (OJUDG Seventh Septemvri) and Estonia (Kohtla-Järve Lasteaed Tareke). The Plungė kindergarten “Vyturėlis” (Lithuania) carried out activities on the topic “STEM of Plants”.
On the first day, the guests were greeted by the director of the institution A. Baltuonienė, the head of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of Plungė district municipality G. Rimeikis and the chief specialist D. Vaškienė. The head of the department briefly presented the education system and proudly informed that it is the first pre-school educational institution in the district to carry out such an international project. Project partners monitored and participated in the activities on the theme “Herbs”, which was organized by teacher A. Šetkauskienė and her group of students. Landscaping specialist introduced various herbs, told about their benefits. After the activity, project partners explored the indoor and outdoor spaces of the institution. The first day ended with an excursion to the Park of Energetic Labyrinths and Geometric Shapes.
Day 2
Early morning of the second project day started with active exercises by the teacher A. Norvaišienė.
After the sports, project partners were invited to participate in the activity “Plant adorns us” organized by teacher A. Šarkauskienė with her student group. Natural dyes from vegetables and frui were created and used for painting linen fabric. Later bags for tea were made from it.
After the activity, project partners visited Plungė kindergarten “Nykštukas”. The director of the kindergarten V. Einikienė greeted guests and presented the work of the institution.
After the visit, project partners participated in the education “Linen path – from seed to patterned cloth” in Telšiai. The day ended with a tour of the capital of Samogitia.
Day 3
The third day of the project started with a visit to Plungė “Saulės” gymnasium. The director of the institution A. Budrys presented the work and achievements in the field of STEAM education. The chemistry teacher S. Žilinskienė and the biology teacher D. Daukšienė introduced the STEAM class and the laboratory.
After the visit, project partners participated in the activities on the theme “Trees” organized by the teacher D. Žalandauskienė and her student group.
We continued the day introducing project partners with the places of interest of Plungė city – the Public library, M. Oginskis manor and the city park. On the third day of our project, team from North Macedonia celebrated the 45th anniversary of their institution (OJUDG Seventh Septemvri). We all sincerely wished them a happy birthday.
Day 4
On the fourth day of the project, guests were invited to participate in the activity “Plant feeds us” organized by the teacher D. Zabitienė and her student group. Children learned that they receive the most nutrients by eating vegetables, fruits and berries. Delicious fruit “rainbows” were created and tasted by all the activity participants.
After the activity, project partners were invited to share their teaching experiences, ideas on the topic of “Plants”. The presentations were prepared by the teachers: A. Šetkauskienė (Plungė kindergarten “Vyturėlis”, Lithuania), R. Akyol (Denizciler Mustafa Kemal Ilkokulu, Turkey), J. Pavlova (Kohtla-Järve Lasteaed Tareke, Estonia), S. Stamenkovska (OJUDG Seventh Septemvri, N. Macedonia).
Later project participants visited Plungė Church of St. John the Baptist and Plungė Cultural Center. In the evening, the kindergarten “Vyturėlis” community with the project partners traveled to Palanga and enjoyed the seashore of the Baltic Sea.

Day 5
We started the last day of our project with a visit to the mayor of Plungė municipality A. Klišonis. The mayor briefly told the guests about the city of Plungė and thanked for the interesting project. After the visit, G. Rimeikis, the head of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of Plungė municipality with A. Baltuonienė, the director of the Plungė kindergarten “Vyturėlis”, handed certificates to each partner of the project.
Later teacher L. Valužienė and her student group invited guests to the last activity “From seed to plant”. During the activity a common poster was created called “Growth cycle of apple tree”. It was painted with natural dyes.
At the end of the last day an apple tree was planted – a symbol of this week activities.
The second international meeting in Lithuania was full of great new experiences for us as a host country. We are very grateful for active participation, sincere communication and cooperation.
Our third international project meeting is starting on the 5th of December in Turkey.
